Slackware - This is my favourite Linux distro due to the fact that it's very clean and easily configurable. Slackware or some customized version based on Slackware is on all of my machines that run Linux.

Knoppix - I used this to boot Linux on my tablet pc. This is good for anyone who wants to try out Linux without wiping out a hard disk partition.

Linux from Scratch - LFS is not really a Linux distribution. Rather, it's a set of instructions that explain how to create a Linux distribution of your own. It's a great way to lean how Linux works. I referred to it when I was working on my fileserver project.

Kernel.org - Grab the latest and old Linux kernels from here.

The Linux Documentation Project - A comprehensive list of documentation for Linux. The HOWTOs archived at this site are very helpful.
